Worcester is the focal and economic hub of the Breede Valley and is tucked away at the foot of the magnificent Brandwacht, Overhex and Langeberg Mountains.
The postcard-pretty town is complimented by luscious green valleys and rolling vineyards from which many award winning wines find their origin in a wine making tradition that dates back 250 years!
Worcester, with the Breede River and Hex River flowing on either side of the town, falls within the transition habitat of fynbos (Cape Flora) and Succulent Karoo, and the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden, situated against a spectacular backdrop of mountain peaks, is a must-see on your itinerary.
The town and surrounds are perfect if you’re into the outdoors; yachting and gliding, canoeing, biking, hiking and mountaineering, water sports at the Brandvlei and Quaggaskloof Dams, 4x4 trails, trout fishing, horse riding and golf are some of the many outdoor activities to indulge in.
Brandy tasting at the KWV Brandy House is an experience not to be missed, or sip your favourite drink while on a relaxing river cruise, indulge in traditional cuisine and local wines, appreciate local arts and crafts, visit the museums or stroll down the many tree-lined streets and admire the architectural masterpieces of an era past.
