Taste Birkenhead beer from the area’s first microbrewery, cheese from the Klein River Cheese factory and wine from one of the many wine farms in the area. Take a gentle cruise down the river, go quad biking, canoeing, kayaking or horse riding. Situated on the banks of the Klein River, Stanford lies on a coastal plain separating the mountains and the sea, about 90 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. The village is mid-way between the resorts of Hermanus and Gansbaai (Goose Bay) on the Cape Whale Coast.
The surrounding valleys feature numerous vineyards, an award-winning cheese maker and a micro-brewery. Health spas and healing, whale-watching and winemaking, hiking and horse-riding, birding and bicycles can all be enjoyed in this scenic area.
