There’s so much to discover, from microlighting, 4x4ing, quad biking, golfing, rock art and game viewing, surfing, diving, angling, crayfishing, wild flower photography, walking tours to view endangered mountain tortoises to the annual half marathon. Whatever you choose, be sure to wash down your experiences with a sizeable swig of our local wine!
The region also displays an abundance of traditional Khoi rock art. We invite you to put on your hiking boots and hit the trail for sites which are publicly accessible.
Bird Island boat trips take you to the only freely accessible Cape gannet-breeding colony. Get up close and personal with a penguin and Cape fur seal and view Cormorants. The endemic Heaviside dolphins cavort in the waves alongside Southern Right Whales. The latter are best viewed between August and October, though in fact they are spotted cruising the West Coast coastline for up to ten months of the year.
