Hangklip-Kleinmond

Punctuated with golden beaches ranging from tiny to never ending, the Hangklip coastline is an absolute paradise for outdoor enthusiasts offering pristine beaches and a selection of activities to suit all age groups. Lifeguards are on duty at the main beaches during high season. Children must be watched at all times as rogue waves and strong currents do occur. Kleinmond's main beach has been awarded Blue Flag Status.

Stony Point in Betty's Bay is a unique land-based penguin breeding colony; one of only two in South Africa. Walk along the boardwalk and view these plucky little birds battle the waves to come ashore. The best viewing times are early in the morning and evening.

A group of free roaming, feral horses use the wetlands between the parking area in the Rooisand Reserve and the river mouth at Kleinmond as their grazing grounds. They can be seen from the beach at Fisherhaven. This is best done in summer and autumn when the water level in the wetlands is low.
