This fishing village was formally a port where camel trains were in operation to transport supplies to towns such as Varhynsdorp. You can see whales in season, while the attractive lighthouse serves as a beacon for both fishermen and tourists.
The North Bay Canning Company built a crayfish-packing factory in the town of Doringbaai in 1925. The factory closed its doors in the 1970s and has since been transformed into a business hub with a restaurant, a winery with wine tasting facilities, as well as a function venue. Explore Doringbaai and see interesting buildings like the old Roman Catholic Church.
