Rooibos MTB by TIP TRANS is an exciting 1-day mountain biking event hosted at the renowned Kardoesie Farm Stall, situated on the N7 in the stunning Piekenierskloof Pass, Citrusdal.

Route Options

The 2025 event offers 4 thrilling route options:

• 125km: A registered Gravel Bike event (MTB and E-Bike riders welcome – see T&Cs).
• 80km: Designed for experienced and fit riders.
• 55km: Perfect for intermediate riders.
• 30km: A family-friendly option.

All routes are non-technical, featuring scenic paths over privately owned farms and district gravel roads. Suitable for mountain, gravel, and e-bikes.

125km Route – Gravel Bike Registered Event

Experience pure gravel bliss!

• Scenic route across private farms and district roads.
• Includes the famous old Piekenierskloof Pass, home to the King and Queen of the Mountain.
• Challenging yet rewarding, recommended for fit and experienced riders.
• Note: MTB and E-bike riders are welcome but will not qualify for podiums or prizes.

80km Route – For the Adventurous

• A fast-paced route starting at Kardoesie Farm Stall.
• Features a few heart-pumping climbs (kickers) and breathtaking descents.
• Passes Paleisheuwel station and leads to Piekenierskloof Pass, hosting the King and Queen of the Mountain.
• Note: Gravel and E-bike riders are welcome but will not qualify for podiums or prizes.

Key Highlights

• PURE GRAVEL BLISS!
  Some sections are extremely fast – riders must exercise caution. There are also a few leg burners for added challenge.
• The event is Cycling South Africa sanctioned.
• Riders will be informed of cut-off times closer to race day.
• E-bikes are welcome but note that battery backup assistance will not be provided.
