Koumashoek Circuit

Koumashoek Circuit is located in the Ruitersbos Nature Reserve. It's a 17km hike with 1181m total elevation n the Robinson Pass area and according to All Traills, "for the fit and experienced hiker, due to its arduous and long trail. With steep climbs and the length, this trail is not for the faint-hearted, although the natural beauty of unspoilt indigenous Fynbos and mountainous vistas, make the trail worth every step"!

We'll pause a while for refreshments at the peak, before we tackle the descent in an anti-clockwise direction back to the starting point.
Compulsary items: Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack, sunscreen, hat, proper trail shoes with sufficient grip, something to eat, enough water. Lightweight windproof jacket/fleece, buff, beanie and gloves depending the weather. Always dress in layers.

Emergency kit: Space blanket, whistle emergency energy bar/trail food, stretch bandage in case of a strained ankle and many other uses and a small petroleum jelly for eyes/lips/chafing etc.

✨ Optional items:

Fingerless gloves for grip, hiking poles, coffee, wet wipes.
