Enjoy a relaxed steam hauled trip through the stunning vineyards and open fields of the Breede River and Langeberg valley which forms the Cape Central Valley. While on the approximately four-hour journey, you will be treated to 9 wine tastings from local wineries including Robertson Winery and Bonnievale Wines and other guest wineries hosted by La Verne Wines as well as an onboard-deli serving light meals by Spasie on Breede restaurant.
Van Loveren Vineyards has three mountain bike routes that offer amazing views of the farm and the Robertson valley. The routes range from an easy, scenic route for families to routes of intermediate difficulty that will keep fitter riders occupied for a few hours. You can bring your own bike or rent one from the farm. The routes all start and end at the Van Loveren tasting room, where riders can cool down afterwards.
The Excelsior Wine Walk is an exciting three-day excursion with daily distances of between 9 to 14 kilometres. It stops off at more than half a dozen prominent wine estates and there are some non-wine related surprises along the way! Excelsior Wine Estate is the starting and ending point for the 3 days. A full continental and cooked breakfast buffet and gourmet 3 course dinners, inclusive of Excelsior wines, are served at the Excelsior Manor House, whilst lunch is enjoyed at a venue along the route.
