Share you stories with each other as passionate individuals show you ‘how to find beauty in unlikely places’. John Ross believes that the “pottery gives the community hope”, learn how clay has shaped their lives for good.
Then enjoy a musical experience like no other, what first looks like a clay pot is in actual fact an Udu Drum and is used to create beautiful music. The young people of Macassar will teach you the basics.
You will then have the opportunity to create a clay item , with help from the ‘clay master’ himself, Musekwa, your creation will be baked and serve as a perfect souvenir of an unforgettable experience. You will also enjoy a traditional ‘super sandwich” known as a Gatsby. Johan de Meyer the owner of the Macassar Pottery Experience, believes that their innovative ceramics will see the community live up to its potential.
