Time for tea at Vergenoegd Wine Estate
Get blending! This estate changes things up a bit and offers unique combinations like tea and coffee blending, olive oil blending and wine blending and you can create your own and take it home with you. Specialising in artisanal picnics in the summer months, they now offer “The Vergenoegd Winter Feast”, which is a three-course set menu consisting of farm-fresh food, including veggies and herbs from their garden (we love organic). You’ll be seated in the restaurant area at the fireplace and we recommend you try the “Vergenoegd Winter Hot Pot”, which is served seven days a week. The little ones can enjoy the lawns and the daily duck parade, where hundreds of Runner Ducks make their way to work in the vineyards at 9:45 and return from work at 3:30 from catching snails and bugs in the vines. For those who can’t get enough of these feathered friends, they also offer a duck tour!
Views and Vines at Cape Point Vineyards
In the sleepy town of Noordhoek, you’ll find the perfect spot for families who love food and the finer things in life. Cape Point Vineyards is popular because of the views for days, but it’s also a foodie paradise for parents. Choose from restaurant dining or an artisan picnic on the lawn, overlooking the dam. They have great wine and the Cheese and Charcuterie Platter is a big hit (who doesn’t love cheese?). Kids have a blast here, climbing on the jungle gyms dotted along the banks, running on the lawn and enjoying the festivities of the Thursday evening markets.
Craft beer, canons and pizza at Signal Gun Wine Estate
Durbanville Wine Valley has loads of activities for young and old, from wine and craft beer parings, to canon firing and game drives. The next canon is launching on the 7th of November 2016, so diarise for a fun day out. The Ke-Monate Restaurant has themed evenings and a popular pizza and wine pairing, because let’s face it - there’s nothing on earth better than pizza and wine!
