Make Games Africa! aims to shine the spotlight on game development from the African continent. A two day business-to-business conference, Make Games Africa! offers African game developers an opportunity to connect with their peers, and grow their network.
There will be a range of playtopia and Make Games Africa! talks dealing with the art and business of games, as well as workshops which feature local and international, thought-leaders. Topics will discuss getting your studio investor ready and how to hustle on the international stage on an African budget. Typically difficult opportunities to gain access and content will be presented to delegates without having to go to major international trade shows. Africa Games Week is a good opportunity to gain exposure to international investors and companies looking to have a footprint in Africa.
Make Games Africa! recognizes that although it is cognizant to interact within the international market, not all information is relevant to an African context which is why there are a variety of talks which touch on the realities of gaming development, and running a business from the Global South. During the conference, there will be live music performances, a VR room, interactive art exhibitions that features work from the likes of Daniel Clough and Tim Smith, and a super friendship hardware gaming arcade!
Wesgro is a proud sponsor of Africa Games Week! as it fulfils their mandate to promote Cape Town and the Western Cape as a premier destination for investment.
This year, Africa Games Week will be at the Castle of Good Hope, from the 5th of December until the 7th of December 2019.
