Visit Knysna, the destination marketing organisation for the greater Knysna area is developing a brand new website that will offer the ultimate user-friendly experience with improved content, navigation and functionality.
Created with the user experience in mind, the new site will include new, fresh content, and some new features to help users to quickly and easily navigate the site, and get to see all that Visit Knysna has to offer.
"After having completed a situational analysis on the status quo of our existing site, we are excited to finally start the process of developing the new website for the promotion of the greater Knysna area. Focus will be on representing the regions of the greater Knysna area, whilst promoting the niches therein," said Visit Knysna’s General Manager, Colleen Durant
Knysna PR has been awarded the contract for the overall project management of the new site. The team includes a local, reputable website design studio - S2 Web Solutions, which will be responsible for the development of the new site. S2 Web Solutions previously developed the Knysna Municipality website, as well as those of the Knysna Accommodation Association and Greater Knysna Business Chamber.
Local photographers, videographers and copywriters will be contracted to ensure modern, up-to-date content to cover all areas, including Buffalo Bay, Brenton, Rheenendal and Sedgefield and the niches that Visit Knysna has to offer collectively. The Visit Knysna team will be working closely with the service providers as the project unfolds to ensure skills transfer and knowledge. The site is expected to be complete within 3 months.
Knysna Executive Mayor, Cllr Elrick van Aswegen commented: "There is no denying that Knysna is hit hard by the lockdown and that it is going to take us a while to fully recover after it is lifted. We intend to work closely with Visit Knysna to revive the economy of the town, restore hope in the tourism industry and assist small businesses where possible. It is gratifying to see local businesses being afforded such opportunities and witnessing them rise to the occasion, congratulations to the companies."
“We are excited to be part of the all-local team that will create the new Visit Knysna website. A strong online presence has never been more important than in the current technological and economic climate. Our aim is to create a website incorporating cutting-edge design to showcase the greater Knysna area as one of South Africa’s most sought after destinations,” added Nicci Rousseau-Schmidt, owner and director of Knysna PR.
Wesgro CEO, Tim Harris concluded: “A well-designed website is one of the most effective marketing tools to have at your disposal, which is why I look forward to the successful completion of this project. I believe the new and improved site will serve as a useful and informative portal for users to grasp a better understanding of Visit Knysna and all that it has to offer.”
