Creation tasting experience

Delicious wines, decadent food and glorious views are what you can expect from your visit to Creation in the Cape Overberg’s Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Although each of these is, of course, a pleasure in itself, we encourage you to try one of the winery’s incredible Tasting Room experiences.

Creation specialises in creating curated tasting and pairing experiences. From a six-course food-and-wine experience to a non-alcoholic tea-and-food pairing, there is something here for everyone’s taste buds.

Starting with the basics, you can enjoy a simple wine tasting, offered daily from 10am to 5pm. You can choose which wines you’d like to taste as you’ll pay per tasting. The tasting generally takes about 30 minutes and you’ll be guided by a knowledgeable host.

For something a bit more fun for those with a sweet tooth, try the chocolate-and-wine pairing. Four delectable wines will be matched to smooth velvety chocolates for a real taste sensation. Remember to sip the wine on its own first so that you can tell the difference when the fireworks go off with the chocolate!

While not everyone drinks wine, most would still like a wine-farm experience. The estate’s non-alcoholic pairing sees eight luxury teas paired with small bites to create an aromatic taste infusion. This is a great option for designated drivers, parents, younger guests or people who simply don’t drink alcohol.

Also, if the kids are tagging along, there’s a specially created experience for young ones aged five to 12: juices and flavoured milk paired with healthy snacks.

Talking about different types of food and wine experiences, how about a brunch pairing? Enjoy a five-course breakfast, perfectly paired with a glass of wine and kicking off at 10am with a glass of Creation’s Elation Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine.

Moving on to a more traditional food-and-wine experience, the “small plate pairing menu” sees six different small courses served with a glass of wine each. This is highly recommended for serious foodies, since the menu changes on a weekly basis and this is where the chefs let their creativity run wild.

Finally, the crowning glory of Creation’s tasting experience: the Heritage of Creation tasting menu. You’ll embark on a six-course tasting adventure, along with some of the best wines the estate has to offer. Each course is presented by a host, guiding you through the journey.
