Vlakte Marathon

Langeberg Athletics Club proudly present the Vlakte Marathon road running event annually. Since the first event back in 2001, it has grown in popularity and prestige to such an extent that it has become a qualifier for the Comrades and Two Oceans!

Hessequa Explorer’s Garden Route, Eureka Mills and the BVSA Group count among our kind sponsors. Without sponsors we will not be able to present this terrific event.

In turn, we donate part of the proceeds to the Cancer Association of South Africa, since we highly value the work done by Cansa.

Races

Participants have a choice of four distances to suit as many participants as possible. There is the full marathon of 42.2km, the half-marathon of 21.1km, as well as a 10.4km distance for the serious runners. And then there is the 5km fun run for those who mostly run for the fun of it.
