Spar Women’s Challenge

The SPAR Women’s Challenge is one of South Africa’s most popular and inclusive road races, welcoming women of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a beginner, participants can choose between a 5km or 10km run in a safe, supportive environment. The event attracts top professional female athletes alongside thousands of recreational runners, creating an uplifting atmosphere for everyone involved. After the race, participants can enjoy a prize-giving ceremony and entertainment.

The Cape Town leg of the series, first held in 1993 and won by Elana Meyer, celebrates over 30 years of empowering women through road running. In 2007, the competitive edge was amplified with the introduction of the SPAR Grand Prix Series, where elite athletes compete in all regional races for substantial cash prizes.
