Wesgro - Cape Town and the Western Cape's official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency - welcomes the Mining Indaba and the 121 Mining Investment conference to the Cape.

For more than two decades, Cape Town has been the place where the world's mining companies gather, each February, to think about their African strategies. This year we will be extending an invite to them to set up offices here to help roll out those strategies.

Several junior mining and resources companies have committed to the Cape in recent years, with ADP, DRA, Batla Minerals SA, Paterson and Cooke, MOGS, Mineral Services, and Bright Resources all running offices here.

These companies enjoy access to a world class base of skills - including the ability to easily attract global talent to live here - Cape Town's quality lifestyle and infrastructure, and an expanding network of air connections, with flights to six new destinations launching in the past 18 months.

This morning, Wesgro CEO Tim Harris opened the 121 Mining Investment conference where he set out the case for more mining and resources companies to invest in the Cape. For the rest of the week the Wesgro team will be engaging Indaba delegates with a compelling argument for them to set up offices in Cape Town.
