Yesterday’s launch saw the release of a large collection of 360-degree images covering some of the most remote areas of South Africa wilderness, including 170 new trails in South Africa’s national parks and reserves.
Wesgro was proud to support the Western Cape section of this project. This support took place through a joint collaboration with Cape Town based travel company Drive South Africa, Cape Nature, Sanparks, Google and Wesgro.
With the support provided by Wesgro, Andre van Kets, co-founder of Drive South Africa, and the team of volunteers were able to cover 14 significant nature reserves in the Western Cape including the West Coast National Park in the Cape West Coast, Bontebok National Park in the Cape Overberg and the Anysberg Nature Reserve in the Cape Karoo.
With a large part of tourists’ holiday’s now being planned online, this exciting new platform by Google will showcase the best of South Africa’s wilderness to a global audience and boost tourism in the Cape.
