Purpose of the Job:
This post will provide assistance to the Chief Marketing Officer for the management of the tourism strategy for Wesgro and its leisure marketing and operational plans. The incumbent will also be responsible for the operational planning and execution of the leisure tourism operational plans. The post will assist with the management of subordinate staff within the leisure unit. The incumbent will provide strategic brand support, project management support, digital and trade marketing support and facilitation of partnerships between private and public sector
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working experience within the tourism marketing industry (private sector an advantage). A relevant diploma / degree in marketing (digital and social media is an advantage). A relevant certificate in project management is an advantage. Campaign and brand management experience on global brands (private sector an advantage). Direct marketing campaign experience on global clients (private sector an advantage)
A mature and professional business attitude· An ability to formulate a strategy that will take into account business, stakeholder and foreign market requirements and in-line with Wesgro’s objectives · Strong written, electronic and verbal presentation skills · Problem solving capabilities · Strong organizational and planning skills with an eye for detail and an ability to remain flexible and open to change · Travel experience and be willing to travel · Research skills.
Reporting: Develop and implement operational plans. The ability to write an operational plan in compliance with the tourism strategy. The ability to implement the operational plan and achieve the targets in compliance with the new strategy.
Project management of Operational Plans : The ability to project manage the leisure tourism operational plan to ensure that all deadlines are met.
Budget management: The ability to co-ordinate and manage budgets on a month-to-month basis. Monitoring, reporting and ensuring that good governance is adhered to.
Stakeholder management: The ability to develop strategic partnerships and joint ventures with stakeholders that strengthen visibility and position in the marketing of Wesgro and the destination. The ability to develop, implement, measure and make the necessary improvements to ensure a successful stake-holder management programme.
Trade marketing: The ability to develop, implement, measure and make the necessary improvements to ensure the success of trade direct and digital marketing campaigns.
Contribute to Brand marketing from a trade perspective: The ability to contribute to the successful leisure marketing campaigns across all marketing platforms and channels (traditional, digital, mobile and social).
Reporting: Writing and delivering of accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, within deadlines.
Research: The ability to interpret research for the development of the marketing plans and campaigns.
