All-inclusive Remuneration Market Related. (Cost to Company)

This is a three year contractual position (with the option to renew) subject to the successful candidate signing a

performance agreement. A six months’ probation period applies.

Purpose of the Job:

The appointee will successfully assist the Agribusiness (Investment Promotion) unit by providing a strong

administrative support function as well as implement support processes to encourage the effective and efficient

administration of the Unit. This includes delivering on designated areas of responsibility as stipulates in the

Agribusiness Investment Promotion Business Plan.

Requirements:

Minimum of five years administrative experience. An appropriate diploma or qualification in administration or

office support. Experience in a professional environment is essential. Previous exposure to Investment

Promotion and government environment and the basic understanding of the Western Cape agribusiness and

government landscape will be advantageous. Basic understanding of the Economy and Business workings in

the Western Cape will be advantageous. Valid Code B driver’s license.

Key Competencies:

A dynamic individual who possesses strong and organizational skills. The appointee will have excellent oral,

written and communication skills as well as basic project management and facilitation skills. Computer literacy

is essential. Should be a team player and deadline driven. Networking, problem solving, relationship

management, stakeholder relations, strong negotiation skills and basic understanding of international markets.

In addition the ideal candidate should be as accountable individual, who behaves with integrity and produces

work of exceptional quality.

Duties:

The candidate will take responsibility for providing daily administration support, coordination and assistance to

Portfolio Managers. Managing client correspondence, compiling reports, filing, track documents and minute

taking. Submissions and tracking of international and local travel, stakeholder engagements, co-coordinating

sector events as well as managing the unit’s client database.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Agribusiness- Investment Promotion
